Crothix Liquid Thickener

Crothix is a high-performance non-ionic thickener developed by Croda Inc. for aqueous surfactant systems. Crothix™ Liquid is a 45% of solid crothix™.

As a complex high molecular weight ester, crothix is truly multi-functional. Not only is it superior as a thickener, but it is also effective as a diethanolamine (DEA) replacement and a mitigator of irritation.

As a thickener, it is efficient as well as effective, producing substantial viscosity even at low levels. As a DEA replacement, the product is a safe alternative providing similar viscosity and foam stabilization. As a mitigator of irritation, it is a viable means of lowering the irritancy potential of the surfactant system itself.

 We use Crothix liquid to thicken liquid surfactant products, and it does this beautifully. Products thickened with Crothix have a really gorgeous professional, glossy, high-end consistency.

Another use for Crothix Liquid is when you have added a fragrance or Essential Oil that thins out your formulation. When this happens add a small percentage of Crothix Liquid and it will often thicken the formulation back up – often saving your batch.

it also makes formulations milder and improves their skin feel on rinse-off.

Recommended usage rate: 1-8%

Can be used in the formulation of shampoos, body washes, face wash, hand wash.
