INCI Name: Hydrolyzed Silk

Hydrolyzed silk is an animal-derived byproduct produce by hydrolyzing the silk protein gotten from the spent cocoon of the silkworm. Helps to condition skin and hair, imparting a smooth feel.

Hydrolyzed silk promotes elasticity and a smooth complexion. When used in skincare products, hydrolyzed silk protein helps the skin’s water barrier to retain moisture. It also provides a radiant glow.

Hydrolyzed silk protein entails cysteine which is needed to produce new keratin and reinforce the hair. Hydrolyzed silk protein has the potentials to supply the hair with new keratin protein and thereby brace weakened hair.

Usage : 0.5 – 10% in formulations, add to cool down phase below 110.

Solubility: Water soluble, pH 4.0-6.0.
