INCI Name: Tranexamic Acid

Tranexamic Acid is a synthetic amino acid that functions as a skin-conditioning agent and astringent. In cosmetics, it functions on skin as a barrier repair ingredient and seems able to help skin recover from damage.

Tranexamic acid works by interrupting at least two pathways in skin that left unchecked, can lead to discolorations, including larger patches known as melasma. It also seems to work within skin’s surface layers to make skin color less susceptible to UV light exposure (but of course, you still need sunscreen) and may also reduce redness.

It is an effective skin brightener when used in cosmetic formulations.

It prevents and treats sun spots, dark spots, acne and blocks melanin formation or accumulation.

It lightens the existing spots by controlling melanin synthesis and dispersing existing melanin.

It restores damaged skin caused by UVA/UVB, pollution or other environmental factors.

Appearance: white to cream colour
Usage rate : 0.2 – 5%
Solubility : water, add to cool down phase.
